Dr. Cristiana Pieroni is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in disease and surgery of the retina and vitreous. After graduating cum laude from Tufts University, she received her medical degree from the UMDNJ/Robert Wood Johnson Medical. She completed her ophthalmology residency at Tufts University/New England Eye Center. She received her subspecialty training in vitreoretinal surgery from Cornell University/New York Presbyterian Hospital.
A member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Specialists, Dr. Pieroni has co-authored several research articles. In addition to treating patients at Retina Specialist PC, Dr. Pieroni is an active researcher in the field of ophthalmology and diseases of the retina.
Her surgical interests include retinal detachment repair, epiretinal membrane peeling, macular hole repair, and retained lens fragment removal. She also specializes in the surgical and medical treatment of diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration.
